Hitlabshut (התלבשות, "clothing") is the Lurianic structural relation by which one cosmic level wraps another, transmitting its influence through the wrapping. It is the second of the two general modes of Partzuf-pair interrelation named in Op. 109; the first being hishtalshelut (chain of development).
The seed appears at Op. 29 (the Line shines within the Sefirot through a garb) — Klach's first naming of clothing-as-mediation. Op. 31 (Adam Kadmon as the central Tree under which other worlds are garments) generalises the concept cosmologically.
The operational use of hitlabshut becomes substantive at Op. 96 (Atik Yomin clothes in A"A; Atzilut sits under Adam Kadmon) and Op. 100 (the way one power clothes itself in another indicates how the wearer directs the garb, but the underlying reasons are beyond comprehension).
Op. 109 elevates clothing to a general rule: every upper-lower Partzuf relationship has both a hishtalshelut-relationship and a hitlabshut-relationship; both must be considered when examining the lower Partzuf's powers. Op. 110 applies the rule: Yesod of Atik ends in Tiferet of A"A (hishtalshelut endpoint); as clothed, ends in Yesod of A"A (hitlabshut endpoint).
The rule is then carried throughout the named-Partzuf walk: Op. 111–114 (Abba and Imma's clothing into Zeir Anpin (Z"A)), Op. 116 (Abba and Imma direct Z"A through his Mental Powers — clothing produces directional governance), Op. 129 (Z"A's First and Second Maturity).
Hitlabshut travels closely with hishtalshelut (the complementary mode — every Partzuf-pair operates in both), Atik (the paradigm clothing-relation: Atik clothes in A"A), and garb / levush terminology (the surface manifestation of hitlabshut). It also connects back to **Op. 29's garb doctrine** as the cosmogonic seed.
Hitlabshut is the wrapping mode by which one cosmic level transmits its influence through another. Together with hishtalshelut, it forms the two-modes rule that runs through every Partzuf-pair relation in the second half of Klach. The clothing relation makes the concealed influence operational without making it visible — concealment-with-effect is the operational character of hitlabshut.
