What this concept is

Atik Yomin (עתיק יומין, "Ancient of Days") is the highest Partzuf accessible to Atzilut-discourse. It is Malchut of Adam Kadmon, clothed in and governing Atzilut (Op. 74). Above Atik sits radla (the Unknown Head) — but radla is unspecifiable; Atik is where investigation begins. Below Atik sits Arich Anpin and the rest of the Atzilutic Partzufim.

Atik also has a second mode of operation — the Atika Kadisha aspect — which is the highest concealed root within Atik, holding the registration of all faulty deeds and the foreknowledge that grounds the cycle of repair. The two aspects (Partzuf-Atik and Atika Kadisha-within-Atik) together form the root of the concealed government.

Atik's most distinctive structural feature is that its Male and Female are literally one body — the limit case of male-female union. Consequently Atik has no actual back; all face on every side. Coupling in Atik is therefore a self-relation, not a coming-together of distinct partners.

How the concept develops

Phase 1 — Forecast (Op. 8, 22)

Op. 8 mentions Atik in the contradictory-likenesses context. Op. 22 maps Atik to the Yod of the Four-Letter Name, with the four-letter mapping placing Atik above all other Partzufim.

Phase 2 — Substantive arrival (Op. 74–77)

Op. 74 introduces Atik substantively: Atik is Malchut of Adam Kadmon clothed in Atzilut, takes on MaH (gematria 45) and BaN (gematria 52) as repairs, sits at the top of the Atzilut hierarchy, and conceals its essence even within Atzilut.

Op. 75 makes the central architectural claim: M and F of Atik are literally one body — no distinction at the operational surface.

Op. 76 develops the consequence: Atik has no actual back; all face on every side.

Op. 77 closes the unit with coupling in Atik — a self-relation that radiates downward, not a meeting of distinct partners.

Phase 3 — Concealed government (Op. 78–84, especially 78, 80, 81, 82)

Op. 78 opens the Root of the Concealed Government unit: Atika Kadisha holds registration of all faulty deeds, even after their repair, in order to reveal perfection.

Op. 80 specifies Atik's role in the MaH-BaN root of all defects and repairs through foreknowledge.

Op. 81 distinguishes the concealed-vs.-revealed governmental orders, with Atika Kadisha at the concealed root.

Op. 82 continues the concealed-government treatment.

Phase 4 — Bridging role (Op. 96, 98, 100, 102, 110)

Op. 96 places Atik in the chain: Atik Yomin is clothed in Arich Anpin; Atzilut is under Adam Kadmon.

Op. 98 specifies Atik's elevation role within A"A — Atik raises what is below it.

Op. 100 generalises the Partzuf-pair clothing relation, with Atik-in-A"A as the local example.

Op. 102 treats Atik's relation to A"A's Mochin.

Op. 110 specifies the Atik-A"A pair under the Op. 109 two-modes rule: Atik's chain-endpoint and clothing-endpoint are different anatomical loci within A"A.

What the reader should hold

Three claims:

  1. Atik Yomin is Malchut of Adam Kadmon clothed in Atzilut — the highest Partzuf accessible to Atzilut-discourse, the channel through which AK's governance enters the Atzilutic system.
  2. Atik's M and F are literally one body — the limit case of male-female union; consequently no actual back; all face on every side; coupling is self-relation not partner-meeting.
  3. Atik has two operational aspects — the Partzuf aspect (operational anatomy) and the Atika Kadisha aspect (concealed root holding registration and foreknowledge). Both are needed; together they form the root of the concealed government.
