The Inner and Encompassing Mental Powers: the Tzelem.
The complete Mental Powers entity is ten-fold — Inner (the entering nine: Netzach, Hod, Yesod (NHY) of Mental Powers) and Encompassing (the surrounding seven: Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet (CGT), KCBD). Both required for complete governance.
Op. 127 introduces the Tzelem (Image) doctrine — the complete ten-fold structure of Zeir Anpin (Z"A)'s Mental Powers. The chapter takes the Mental-Powers picture from the previous unit and expands it to include both Inner and Encompassing aspects.
The Mental Powers are not just the three (Chochmah, Binah, Daat) plus their NHY-distribution. The complete entity is ten-fold — including both the Inner aspect (the entering nine: the actual Mental Powers entering Z"A's body) and the Encompassing aspect (the surrounding seven: the Mental Powers shining on Z"A from outside).
The Encompassing Mental Powers do not enter Z"A's body; they shine on it from around. But they are operationally active — they produce a gradient between Or Penimi (Inner Light) and Or Makif (Encompassing Light) that makes Z"A's governance both close enough (via Inner) and large enough (via Encompassing) to govern the lower creations.
The Tzelem (Image) is the cosmic-anatomical name for this complete ten-fold entity. The biblical anchor: in the Image of God He made man (Genesis 1:27) — the human's Image corresponds structurally to Z"A's Tzelem. The cosmic government's operational identity is Tzelem-shaped.
