Male and Female before the Nekudim. The Balance as the root of Male and Female thereafter.
Male and Female operate above Nekudim too — AV (gematria 72)/SaG (gematria 63) coupling. The matkela (balance) is the root of Male and Female from Atzilut downwards.
Op. 65 generalises the male-female architecture beyond Nekudim. Even at the highest cosmic levels — at the level of AV and SaG, the upper expansions — there is coupling, male-female, sweetening and integration. The matkela is therefore not a Nekudim-specific phenomenon; it is the cosmic structure of coupling itself.
Male and Female above Nekudim too. The reader might think the male-female architecture only operates at the operational level — Zeir Anpin (Z"A) and Nukva, Abba and Imma, the deed-dependent mode of the closing chapters. Op. 65 corrects this. AV and SaG couple at the highest cosmogonic level. The female-male pair operates throughout, from the highest concealment to the operational deed.
The Balance is the root of Male and Female from Atzilut downwards. The matkela is what produces the male-female architecture at the operational levels. Without the matkela, there would be no operational male-female pairing; with it, every Partzuf in Atzilut has its male and female aspects, and every coupling is an operational instance of the matkela.
This is structurally significant for the named-Partzuf walk. When Klach later says Atik Yomin's M and F are literally one body (Op. 75) — the limit case of male-female union — Op. 65 has prepared the structural framework: the matkela operates at every level, but the degree* of male-female union differs from level to level (Op. 73 will specify this).
