Section: The World of Repair (Openings 59–69)

TL;DR

This chapter specifies the operational stages through which the Male/Female-Balance produces a new Partzuf: Coupling (zivug), Pregnancy (ibur), Birth (leidah). Two parts: (Part 1) The repair of each aspect through Male/Female comes about through the mystery of Coupling, Pregnancy, Birthsame as below in the Likeness of Man. (Part 2) The stages in detail: Coupling channels MaH-and-BaN parts until everything is placed in the Female; in her — as a single whole — is everything that needs to exist in the resultant light (no need to add or subtract; the first cause has already given everything; no other causal factor acts). Afterwards: this overall whole must be differentiated into its detailed parts (gradation principle: whole first, then parts). The embryo is not revealed on its own until all constituent parts are fully revealed — until then, concealed within the higher light it depends on (= Pregnancy). When all details are visible — even at minimum radiation — the offspring is revealed on its own = Birth (revelation from the higher luminary to the outside). After birth: only power/radiance can grow — not details. Two things to understand per Partzuf: (a) number of details (must all be present at birth — root of each function/condition); (b) degree of power (governs how strongly each function operates — mature/immature mochin). Different periods: time for details to be revealed (during pregnancy) → ends → period for power to grow (the suckling period). After birth: parent power clothes in offspring; offspring descends under the upper branch; mode of government can ascend/descend per higher lights entering, but constituent parts cannot change. He'arah (radiation) terminology: per the Chariot in prophetic vision, the resultant light is itself a radiation of the parent light.

Synthesis

Op. 66 specifies the operational stages through which the Male/Female-Balance produces a new Partzuf: Coupling (zivug), Pregnancy (ibur), Birth (leidah). The chapter mirrors the human Likeness of Man below — the entire repair is bound up with the Likeness of Man, so its various facets are governed per what this aspect involves here in the lower world. Coupling operates through the arousal of the Yesods of the parent Partzufim; the resulting offspring's cause is only the couplingwith coupling complete, the first cause has given everything; no other causal factor acts in the offspring. Therefore nothing can exist in the offspring that wasn't there already; the Female contains all that has to exist in the resultant offspring as a single whole. Pregnancy is the differentiation of this single whole into its detailed parts — the embryo is not revealed on its own until all its constituent parts are fully revealed; until then, concealed as an embryo within the parent power. The Lurianic-Kabbalah doctrine is precise: no light can carry out its functions until all its constituent parts are revealed in it — therefore the embryo cannot be a Partzuf in itself until pregnancy is complete. Birth happens as soon as all the details are visible — even at minimum radiation. The chapter's most useful technical distinction is at ¶12: two things must be understood per Partzuf: (a) the number of details (must all be present at birth, since each detail roots one function or condition); (b) the degree of power (governs how strongly each function operates — mature or immature mochin). The first is fixed at birth; the second is not — it grows during the suckling period (yenikah). After birth, no more details can be added — only power and radiance can grow; the lights expand or contract per the vessels' nature, but the number of specific powers depends on the parts of the vessels themselves.
